🎯Behind the Build — How We Helped COMAID Launch MapMe

📌 Introduction

When Civil Society Organizations like COMAID come to us with a powerful mission and a pressing need, we know our job goes beyond just writing code — it’s about creating tools that amplify their impact. This month, we’re excited to shine the spotlight on MapMe, a custom mobile application we built for COMAID (Community Assistance In Development) — and yes, it’s already live on the App Store and Play Store!

💡 The Challenge

COMAID needed a way to document, track, and report on land-related violations and environmental issues happening in remote areas. Traditional field data collection methods were slowing them down — scattered notes, inconsistent formats, and no real-time monitoring.

They needed an app that could:

  • Allow field agents to create detailed alerts with categories and subcategories

  • Track their movements while on the field

  • Collect and store consistent reports across all locations

  • Be accessible offline, and sync automatically when connected

  • Help them act quickly and respond to incidents as they happen

🚀 The AfroVisioN Approach

We worked hand-in-hand with COMAID’s team to understand their field workflow and translate it into a digital experience that’s smooth, intuitive, and reliable.

The result? MapMe — a robust field data collection and monitoring app designed specifically for Civil Society Organizations.

With MapMe, field agents can:

  • Create alerts on-the-go and assign them to specific categories like Land GrabbingEnvironmental Destruction, or Land & Environmental Defenders

  • Track location in real-time during field activities

  • Generate consistent reports with structured data entry

  • Operate without internet, syncing once they’re back online

📲 Available on Both App Stores

We handled the full app development process from design to deployment — so COMAID could focus on what they do best: defending land rights and protecting vulnerable communities.

💬 What COMAID Said

“We needed a partner who could truly understand our mission and help us digitize it without losing the human touch. AfroVisioN delivered exactly that.”
